Di Avoide – Yaakov “Yanky” Lemmer at Villa Seligman

On March 20, 2023, the "Brooklyn Cantors" Yanky Lemmer, Shimmy Miller and Yoel Kohn were guests at Villa Seligmann under the direction of Dr. Jeremiah Lockwood. Accompanied by a string quartet, they presented sounds from the "Golden Ages" of cantorial music in the 20th century.
This composition by Solomon Gozinsky was first recorded by Cantor David Roitman. Here, Lemmer and Lockwood refresh it with motifs of the Yom Kippur liturgy intertwined in this contemplative waltz.
