Yesterday, Richard Alpert (aka Ram Dass) the author of Be Here Now passed away at the age of 88. May his neshama have a big aliyah! I was never a follower of Ram Dass, and my spiritual practice is much different than his, but I am a strong believer in the power and importance of being present, and few people shared that message with the world on the scale of Ram Dass. In his memory, let's all make a special effort to stay present throughout our lives, and especially this Hanukkah! Gather you loved ones, linger by the light of your menorahs, and meditate on the great miracles that are happening here and now!
